Sixto Villanueva Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 2, 2011.
Sixto Viloria Villanueva passed away at 3:02 pm on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at home in Glendale after his battle against heart disease. Born in the Philippines on April 6, 1930 to Primitivo and Juliana Villanueva, Sixto received his law degree from the Far Eastern University and worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission for 30 years where he served as Director and Secretary to the Commission in the last years of his career and prior to immigrating to the United States. His spirituality and devotion to his faith called him to volunteer his time and talent in various church organizations throughout his life. At Incarnation Catholic Church in Glendale, he served as eucharistic minister to the sick and at liturgy, greeter at Sunday Masses, was an active participant in the Heart of Jesus Charismatic group, and visited and prayed with the residents of the Broadway Manor Care Center every Tuesday until his sickness no longer allowed him to do so. Sixto is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emma, his children Deborah (Francis), Sheldon (Cecilia), Sixto, Jr (Ursula), Emelyn, and Steve (Rachel). His grandchildren are: Michael (Monica), Anna, Joanne, Ian, David, Kriska, Kamla, Mark, Camille, Ariana, Mia (deceased), Christian, Andrew, Justin, Gavin and a grandchild due in October. Great Granddaughter: Maggie Lavergne.
