Skender Alickolli
"Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather & brother"
Skender Alickolli, 89, of Cheshire, CT, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Nefaret (Lindraku) Alickolli who passes away in 2022.
Skender was born in Kapshtice, Albania on April 5, 1935, a son of the late Safet Tefik and Feride (Kutrolli) Alickolli. He was a teacher for many years in Albania. Skender along with his wife, Nefaret, moved to the United States in 1995 settling in Waterbury. He enjoyed working in his garden, masonry work but truly loved the time he spent with his family and loving grandchildren.
He leaves his three children, Ilirjan Alickolli and his wife, Alda Hyska, of Cheshire, CT, Liljana Horanlli and her husband, Xhavit, and Irena Zhura and her husband, Besnik, all of Myrtle Beach, SC, his five loving grandchildren, Klevis and Eldi Horanlli, Arisa Zhura, Alex and Bryce Alickolli and one greatgrandson, Tristan Horanlli. He was predeceased by a grandson, Henri Zhura, and two brothers, Bexhet and Agron Alickolli.
Arrangements: A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. A calling hour will be held Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the service at the funeral home.
