Obituary of Skip (Raymond Allen) Warner, Jr.
Skip was born October 22, 1949, to Gertrude and Raymond A. Warner, Sr. His mom told Ray that she had the first, and he could have the second...that is why Skip was an only child. He was born in Rhode Island but soon was traveling between there and Florida as Dad was a boat builder and clam digger. Skip grew up in the boat and learned how to count with clams and was nicknamed "Skipper". After graduation he started college but being patriotic, he joined the army and was sent to Vietnam to serve his country. After there, was Okinawa, Japan where he was the only American in his neighborhood. Skip came home from the war feeling proud but was greeted by protesters who had no idea what these guys had gone through. He came home a disabled vet.
Skip always had the ability to make friends fast and friends have stayed by his side to the end in spite of his rough side of flying off the handle, getting upset when things didn't go right or someone was late. He had strong opinions and felt if he spoke louder you might understand him. After 2 failed marriages and 2 sons, he met Sharon. They were married on June 18, 1983. Sharon's personality was totally opposite...she was quiet, calm and creative. They started to build a life together which took them from NH to Florida and Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Sharon drew designs, Skip and she would build together and Sharon would add the finishing touches. They traveled to almost every Caribbean Island and places around the world. In 2004 they bought the guest house in Eleuthera, named it The Barefoot Beach House, and created a beautiful haven for guests to enjoy. Skip loved meeting all the guests from around the world. He had a passion for fishing, boating and cooking. They both loved cooking and entertaining so all their friends enjoyed delicious food and fun conversations around the dinner table. Together they built their new home in Eleuthera. Sharon added all her special artistic touches and for the last 20 years this was home. In 2020 they sold the house in Key Largo and bought a new home in Palm Bay. They had just finished all the remodeling and were ready to start the next chapter of life doing more traveling. Unfortunately, Skip was called by the higher dimensions as he was one of their greatest warriors. His greatest mission ever will be to assist humanity from above. He passed over peacefully.
In lieu of flowers Sharon would like you to honor Skip by reaching out in kindness to a friend or someone in need. Skip is survived by Sharon H. Warner, his wife of 40 years; son, Allen (Raymond A Warner III) and wife Jessica; his 2 grandsons, Nathan and Roy; and a second son, Timothy Iden. He also leaves behind cousins and LOTS of friends from all around the world.
