Skyler Matthew Ditton, 23, of
Kendallville, Indiana, died unexpectedly, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his residence.
He was born May 21, 2001, in
Kendallville, Indiana, to Matthew and Raven (Boyd) Ditton.
Skyler graduated from East Noble High School in 2019.
After graduation, he honorably served in the U.S. Marines.
He worked at Hendrickson Suspension in Kendallville.
He attended Grace Christian Church in Kendallville.
Skyler loved his truck "Lucy" and going to the gym. He enjoyed chasing trains with his dad, especially those with a steam engine, Saturday morning breakfast with his fiancé and his stepmom, spending time with his stepsisters, spending time with his grandfather for coffee and target practice, and spending time with his Mom and their animals.
Surviving are his fiancé, Haylee Isaacson of Kendallville; his mother and stepfather, Raven and Jerry Clifford of Kendallville; his father and stepmother, Matthew and Dava Ditton of Kendallville; a sister, Shantel (Josh) Farber of New Haven; two stepsisters, Paige Leezer of Kendallville and Ashley Leezer of Kendallville; maternal grandfather, Roger (Jan Kauffman) Boyd of Kendallville; paternal grandmother, Peggy Ditton of Kendallville; bonus grandparents, Craig and Cheryl (Hamlin) of Kendallville; uncles and their families, Jeff Ditton of Kendallville; Eric Ditton of Goshen, Mark Hamlin of Kendallville; Matt Hamlin of Fort Wayne; Haylee's parents, Erica and Scott Isaacson of Hudson; special friends, Ethan Belhumeur, Ezra Belhumeur, Jalen Belhumeur, and Jazmine Belhumeur; and his "fur babies", his dogs, Ava and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Ditton; maternal grandmother, Loretta Boyd; and his cockatiel, Cheekoe.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Logan Hayes officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake Bethel Cemetery near LaGrange.
Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Ethan Belhumeur, Gabe Jacobson, Austin Compton, Skyler Hammer, Devin Nichols, Craig Hamlin, Brock Trowbridge, and August Smith.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services on Thursday, all at the funeral home.
