Socorro Cantú Vázquez, una amorosa madre, abuela y bisabuela, nacida el 27 de julio de 1957 en México, falleció el 5 de octubre de 2025 en Brownsville, Texas. Fue amada y apreciada por su familia y amigos durante toda su vida.
Socorro fue una madre devota de siete hijos: Jesús Cantú, Alicia (Juan Carlos) Roel, Irene (Gilberto†) Díaz, Ricardo (Myra) Cantú, Nereyda (Víctor Manzano) Cantú, Yurydia (Luis) Gallegos y Gerardo (Kenia Delgado) Cantú. Su vida estuvo llena de alegría traída por sus 16 nietos y un bisnieto.
Le preceden sus padres, Manuel Vázquez y Sara Lara, esposo, Jesús Cantú y hermana, Edith Vazquez.
Los servicios para Socorro se llevarán a cabo en la Funeraria Trevino ubicada en 1955 Southmost Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521. La visita comenzará el jueves 9 de octubre de 2025, de 2:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. Las visitas se reanudarán el viernes 10 de octubre de 2025, de 8:15 a.m. a 12:00 p.m., con un servicio en la capilla a las 12 p.m. Se llevará a cabo un servicio de entierro en Buena Vista Burial Park a la 1:00 p.m.
