Soledad Quintos Cano of West Orange, NJ died peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92. She was born on November 10, 1930 to Domingo Quintos and Paz Diokno in San Juan, Philippines. She was a beloved wife to the late Ireneo E. Cano, raising six children in Caloocan, Philippines. Their family immigrated to the US in 1974 and lived in Jersey City, NJ for 12 years before relocating to West Orange, NJ.
Also known as Solly or Sally, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 25 years at Greenville Hospital in Jersey City and later worked as a home health aide for the elderly. She spent her retirement years volunteering for St Raphael Church in Livingston, NJ. She was an active parishioner and her church friends embraced her attitude as she consistently put others before herself. Baking was her passion. She would delight her family and friends making her Filipino desserts of sans rival and chiffon cake. She enjoyed traveling and visited many countries, but what she really enjoyed most was spending the holidays with family and friends.
Soledad is survived by her five children Celeste Bahia and her husband Percy, Pia Marcks and her husband Paul, Enrico Cano and his wife Lorrie Anne, Monica Walsh and her husband George, Regina Masherelli and her husband Pat and predeceased by her youngest daughter Olivia Cano. She was a beloved grandmother to Crystal Alfonso and her husband Roderick, Samantha and Alex Bahia, Andrew Aguilera, Gianna and Dominic Masherelli, Mark Walsh and Olivia Sean Cano. She was also a beloved great grandmother to Cayden Koa Alfonso.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at Shook-Farmer Funeral in Roseland, NJ, shookfarmer.com.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10am at St Raphael Church in Livingston, NJ and burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ

A beautiful family lady
Blessed with a loving family
My beautiful memory was at my cousins wedding watching her and her husband dance ballroom style together
she had a big smile as she lovingly danced with her loving husband
God bless them both

Sally may have been one of the sweetest ladies I´ve ever been blessed to know. She had such a heartwarming smile and she was so genuine! I know she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
