Solitaire A. Murphy

Solitaire A Murphy, loving wife and mother, passed away quietly at Webster Home Care on February 13, 2026 at age 72. This completed a years long battle with NALD(Non-Alcoholic Liver Disease) as well as three strokes, including months of rehab therapy and critical hospital stays. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Frances Azzarone of Rochester, NY. Her final weeks in palliative care in Webster Comfort Care Home were a tremendous mercy under the 24/7 care of their extraordinary teams of dedicated volunteers and nurses. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Patrick Eugene Murphy, 76, and her four children, Jonathan, Brendan, Sarah and Emma.

She attended Sacred Heart grade school, Nazareth Academy, and Nazareth College with a B.S. in Music, M.S. in Elementary Education, A.A.S. degree in Business Administration(FLCC). She gave piano instruction for many years, was a substitute music teacher(intermediate and junior high), was an AVON Inc. sales representative for 33 years, an Administrative Assistant at Citibank Student Loan for ten years. Many secretarial stints, including admin/medical secretary for Clifton Springs Hospital.
She did volunteer work as a Rotarian in the Victor Farmington Rotary Club(her "second family!") for a decade.

She met her future husband, Patrick, when they were both working at St. John the Evangelist, Greece NY, 14626 but then then only "discovered" each other when both simultaneously joined a dating service and met "officially" on February 12, 1978. A fearless defender of family and in public for rights, needs and justice, she sacrificed to serve and strove past all infirmities at every turn.

In place of flowers, donations might be made to Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Road, Webster N.Y. a non-profit, volunteer-staffed hospice service for the terminally ill, to Rotary(local or international), or medical research in the prevention and treatment of liver disease and diabetes.
