James L. "Jim" Roberts

Passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 77.

Predeceased by his parents, Leonard R Roberts and Margaret L (McMannis) Roberts; brother Richard L and his wife Donna (August); brother-in-law Terry Kolasa. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Ardell Cowley.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cowley), son Timothy, brothers Wiliam J and Rosemary (Chase) Roberts of High Point, NC, and sisters Mary Jean Kolasa from Los Alamitos, CA, Patricia A Roberts and Martin Derek from Green Valley, AZ. Sister-in-laws Patricia Saporito, Lisa Poulter and Jeannine Roets and brother-in-law Matt Roets and a brother-in-law, David Cowley all of Rochester NY. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Jim was a graduate of Greece Arcadia class of 1966 and went through his tool and die apprenticeship at (Pluto) P Tool and Die in Rochester and then worked in the Xerox Tool Room at Xerox Corporation in Webster NY as a Model Maker for 30+ years. He retired from the Xerox Union in 2004.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting for ducks, geese, rabbits, grouse, turkeys, deer and elk, fishing for bass, trout and salmon, golfing, grilling and enjoying the sunsets from a cottage in the Thousand Islands on Chaumont Bay and later on at Little Sodus Bay in Fair Haven, NY.

Private arrangements by the New Comer Cremations, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609. A Celebration of Life and Interment to be done at a later date.
