Sondra Jean McCracken, 81, Stuart Florida, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. She was born on May 25, 1944, in Battle Creek, Michigan

Sondra was a 1963 graduate of Moundsville High School, Moundsville, WV. After graduation, Sondra married Larry John McCracken in June 1963 and spent the early years of their marriage in the Navy stationed in Newport, Rhode Island. Following their time in the Navy, Sondra and Larry moved to Eastern Ohio to be closer to relatives and to start a family.

In 1980, Sondra relocated from Mineral Ridge, Ohio to the sunny and warm West Coast of Florida with Larry and her two sons. Sondra later went on to build a meaningful career as a Food Service Manager with Pasco County Florida Schools. She took immense pride in her work, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues through her dedication, compassion, and steady leadership.

Family was at the heart of everything Sondra did. She is survived by her loving sons, Eric McCracken (Laura) of The Villages, FL, and Dean McCracken (Carrie) of State College, PA; her three cherished grandchildren; her devoted sister, Sharen Gilmore (Frank) of Glen Dale, WV; extended family, and many close friends who will forever remember her kind heart, humor, and bubbly personality.

Sondra was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Larry McCracken; her father, Glenn Terrill; and her mother, Bertha (Parks) Boyd.

Sondra's legacy lives on in the people she loved, the lives she touched, and the lasting memories of her gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
