Sonja left his world on March 28, 2024, at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born in Oklahoma City on August 25, 1938, to Al Smith and Ethel Smith, she was 85. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Mario Briceno. She is survived by her son Dan Nashert, daughter Cindy Bernardy, son-in-law David Bernardy, son Robert Nashert, daughter-in-law Cindy Nashert and daughter Amy Briceno.
Sonja attended McGuiness High School and OSU Tech College. She continued her education and earned her Master’s degree in psychology. She worked at a correctional facility talking with inmates.
She loved to travel, garden, and enjoyed some interior decorating.
