On November 30, 2025 at 8:50 am illness claimed the body here on earth of Sonja Marie Sanchez-Lara,55. In the end it is Heaven who won by gaining a beautiful soul. The Lord blessed us on September 1, 1970 and we will forever be grateful to have loved such a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and friend. Met in Heaven by her father, Robert Christopher Sanhcez. Mother, Nellie Camilla Acosta and step-mother, San Juana "Janie" Silva-Gomez.

Her kindred soul meant she never met a stranger and was always willing to listen whole heartedly to those in need. Always offering advice or sharing knowledge she had stored from her many life experiences. She really prided herself in being the worlds best Honey to her grandbabies, Josiah, Aniyah,Damian, Jeremiah, Gabriel, Bobbie, Dannie, Sicily, Isabella, Jackie, Emma, Joycie, and Lucien. She was looking forward to her first GREAT grand baby, a little girl, in April. Her ability to battle the cirrhosis and cancer at the same time and make it this far just goes to show how stubborn Sonja was. She was always going to do it her way no matter what. Thus certain traditions were made and will be carried on forever more. Boiled eggs in the mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving.Strawbaby cake for birthdays and checkers in your stocking for Christmas. Sonja's sense of humor was as wild as her taste in music. She could light up a room with her smile and outgoing personality. Her love for the Dallas Cowboys was evident and her support for her husband's love of the Eagles was endearing.

Sonja leaves behind her husband of 17 years, Hector Rudolfo Lara. Her sisters, Leslie Acosta, Becky Hernandez, Robin Castro & wife Cathy, Lisa Hernandez & husband Julio, Shelene Gomez-Miller & husband Kenny. Along with a plethora of nieces and nephews. Her children: Christina Sanchez-Grant & her favorite son in law, Jarrett. Crystal Ramirez, husband Johnathan, and children Sarah, Joshua, Delilah, and Gavriella. Kriste Sanders & Paul, Corey & Kevin Sanders, Kristianna Wells & husband Hunter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Life Church and officiated by Pastor Gene Holly JR at 10 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Later that evening the family will host all visitors at the East Lynwood Community Center from 5-9.

The family would like to thank the community of Wichita Falls for all their generosity and support. It was deeply appreciated and felt by the entire family.
