Cheryl Ann Bates Tidwell, 79, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memorial service will be December 15, 2025 at 11:00am at 3 Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church, 5820 Southwest Parkway WF

She was born October 12, 1946 to Eugene Edmondson and Bonnie Theola Braddock in WF. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1964. She was All State Acapella choir her Junior and Senior year. She was an accomplished pianist and had the prettiest voice you ever heard. She began lessons when she was 4 years old. Nana was influenced by music all of her life. Her parents, brother and sister, were all musicians. After high school she married Don Bates. She was a Navy wife for a few years. They had boys, Craig and David. They later divorced but remained good friends. In 2005, she ran into a classmate at Walmart. He got her phone number and 8 years later they married on October 27, 2013. God brought them together. They were soulmates. They loved being together. Going to sports events. MSU season ticket holders. They loved watching Basketball and Football, loved going to the movies and worshiping together. Nana loved her church. She was a pianist and deaconess, until she became ill.

Her work career was in construction as an office manager. She lived in several states. Her final work was with Chavez Contracting where she had enjoyed working with the staff and with James Chavez and Tim Holmes, until her retirement

Nana was a great lady. She was the most loving, kind, forgiving, great sense of humor and god loving woman. She gave dementia one heck of a ride for 2 years. She loved her husband and family fiercely. She was a wonderful wife, mom, bonus mom and friend. She will surely be missed
