Sonny Hilton

Mr. Sonny Hilton, 85, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Sonny was born February 18, 1940 in Arab, Alabama the son of the late William Hilton and the late Verna Moore Hilton. He worked as the Finance Officer and Comptroller for Taulman Company for many years. Sonny owned and operated S&J Quickstop in Villa Rica for 13 years. After selling S&J Quickstop, Sonny sold restaurant equipment for the Broaster Corporation and later he sold cars for several Ford dealerships. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1962. When Sonny was younger, he developed a love for sports, fishing, woodworking and music. In his senior season at North Clayton high school, he threw the only no hitter in the state play offs for 1958. While in the Air Force his love for music blossomed and he learned to play the guitar so he could join a band with some of his squadron mates. After leaving the Air Force he married and began a career in accounting. His love for fishing, sports, woodworking and dogs continued to grow and he shared that love with his family until the day the Lord called him home. He was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Beverly Leahmann and Richard Hilton.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Ann Monahan Hilton of Villa Rica, children, Greg (Julie) Hilton of Dallas, Kevin (Heather) Hilton of Zebulon, Dina (Justin) Sims of Newnan, siblings, Elaine Leming of Port St. Lucie, FL, Olin Hilton of Palm Bay, FL, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at J. Collins Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of J. Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Samples officiating. Greg Hilton will give the eulogy.

Interment will follow in Glen Memorial Gardens with Austin Hilton, Ryan Hilton, Evan Hilton, Mason Hilton, Aiden Sims and Alex Sims serving as pallbearers.

Sonny's presence in the lives of those who knew him will always be remembered with fondness and love.
