Sonya Rae (Towne) Sylvester, aged sixty-four, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital, Michigan.
Sonya was born September 2, 1960 in Fremont, Michigan. She graduated from NHS in 1979.
Sonya enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, and other crafts. She had a love for cats, dogs, and giraffes, and was even a member of a chat group at Animal Adventure Park in Upstate New York. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church of South Haven.
She worked for Wal-Mart for over 25 years and retired from there.
Sonya married Brad Sylvester on May 21, 1983. They had one daughter, Sarah Sylvester.
She is survived by her husband Brad of Covert, Michigan; daughter Sarah of Lawrence, Michigan; sister Gwen of Wyoming, Michigan, several nephews, nieces, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father James Towne and mother, Karen (Millard) Towne.
There will be a Memorial Service for Sonya on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in South Haven, Michigan at 1:00 pm. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
