Sophia Evangelides Obituary

Sophie was a long-time member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, and an active member of St Barbara's Philoptochos. She was welcoming and kind to everyone she encountered; she loved helping others and supporting her church community, including volunteering for festivals and outreach events.
Born in Detroit, Sophie was the last remaining sibling among two brothers (Christ and George), and a sister (Ellen). She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Chris Evangelides, her nephew Ted George (wife, Sandy), and her great niece Megan George Miller (husband, Michael).
Sophie's strength of character and compassion were an inspiration to all who knew her; she was well loved and will be greatly missed. All services will be held at Assumption Greek Orthodox, 8202 E Cactus Road, Scottsdale, Arizona on Thursday September 4, 2025. Visitation at 10:30 am, funeral service 11:30 and interment immediately following at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, family requests all donations be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Sophie's memory.
