It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stacey Louise McChesney, age 56, on June 27, 2025, in Huntsville, Texas. Stacey was born on June 10, 1969, to parents Jay W. Campbell and Alice J. Copher in Joplin, Missouri.
She retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after 30 years of dedicated service. She then went to work for the Carnival Corporation and was excitedly preparing to be a Chewtopian for Chewy, Inc.
Stacey is survived by her husband Charles; son Austin (Kailey); daughters Jolie and Katelyn; sisters Sherrie Smith (Scott) and Stephannie Allen; nieces and nephews Deborah, Mandy, Dalton, Megan and Truett; great nieces and nephews Elizabeth, Caroline, Emma, August and soon to be born George. She is also survived by her beloved fur babies Maggie, Snoopy, Zoey, Brax, Missy and Bella.
There is one special person, Melissa, we want to say thank you to for being Stacey's best friend, who never let her down.
Stacey was one of a kind and we will miss her and her happy soul. She truly loved her family and friends with everything she had. She will never be forgotten – we love you, Stacey.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Memorial condolences to the family may be made at www.shmfh.com.

Stacey had a way of making you feel seen and cared for, and she always had a smile ready to share. Her love, kindness, and steady support meant the world to me-and to so many others. She stood firm in what she believed was right and carried that strength with grace. Her love of Dr. Pepper was only rivaled by her love for Austin and her family (including the fur babies), who were truly her whole world. She made an unforgettable impact, and I will carry her memory always.
