Stacy Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center on Mar. 30, 2026.
Stacy Lyn (Edwards) Morris, 54, of Lafayette, Indiana, a former longtime Martinsville resident, entered eternal rest with loved ones by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Stacy was one of six children born to Rose May "Rosie" (McKinney) Edwards and the late Herbert Eugene Edwards, Sr. She blessed her parents with her birth on Thursday, September 2, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A proud graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1990, Stacy continued her education by earning a degree in criminal justice from Caplin University. She was employed as a controller and coordinator for Haley's Lock Safe & Keys in Lafayette.

Stacy spent the majority of her life in Martinsville before living in Crawfordsville and eventually settling in Lafayette after marrying her husband, Kevin. She embraced life fully and found joy in riding with her husband on their Harley-Davidson, playing cornhole and poker, and spending time outdoors. Above all, her most treasured moments were those shared with her grandbabies and building a life with Kevin.

On October 21, 2023, she married the love of her life, Kevin Matthew Morris, who survives and lives in Lafayette.

Also surviving are her son, Caleb Barnes (Felicia) of Crawfordsville; her mother, Rose May (McKinney) Edwards of Martinsville; her cherished grandchildren, Addison, Christian, and Caleb Barnes, Jr.; her brother, Herbert E. "Eugene" Edwards, Jr. of Martinsville; and her sisters, Anna Shoemaker (Rick) of Birdseye, Trina Key (Jim) of Morgantown, Kathy Hendley (Fred) of Martinsville, and Rebecca "Becky" Burkett (Troy) of Eminence.

She was preceded in death by her father, her daughter, Amanda Rickard, on July 5, 2020 and her grandson, Johnny Barnes.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center.

In honoring her wishes, Stacy will be cremated and laid to rest privately with her daughter at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, P.O. Box 780990, Philadelphia, PA 19178-0990.

Online condolences may be shared with Stacy's family at www.nealandsummers.com.
