Stacy Sampson Obituary
his passing on June 21, 2025, at the age of 78-years-young. After a
difficult battle with dementia, gout, and other health challenges, Stacy
transitioned peacefully into the presence of the Lord.
Stacy was born on February 12, 1947, to Stacy Sampson, Sr. and Betty
Richardson Sampson in the bustling city of New York City. After he
graduated from Commerce High School in 1964, Stacy pursued an
accounting degree at Bronx Community College. He later worked in a
men's custom clothing shop and in banking for over 20 years. Stacy was
passionate about being well dressed and loved looking sharp at all times.
Stacy Sampson, Jr. was predeceased by father, Stacy Sampson, Sr.; and
mother, Betty Sampson. He is survived by eldest sister Barbara Ann
Sampson Gross; Brother-in-Love, Rodney Gross; and younger sister,
Cynthia Lee Sampson. Stacy's legacy of love includes three children:
son Shawn Simpson; daughter Kellee Jenkins; daughter Stacey
Sampson; and many grandchildren.
Stacy is known for his amazing voice, sense of humor, love of the arts,
and being the life of the party. While his roots began in Harlem, he spent
a short time in Silver Spring, Maryland before settling down in Atlanta,
Georgia decades ago. Stacy shared his singing gift with the Men's Choir
of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a beloved
member of the Columbia Colony Senior Community. Fellow residents
could count on him to participate in events, lend his illustrator skills, and
bring jokes to all.
A celebration of Stacy's life will be held at Cascade Chapel of Murray
Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, July 19 at 1:00 pm, ET. The
family welcomes floral arrangements as a token of remembrance. Loved
Ones are also invited to sign Stacy's digital Guestbook.
