Stan "Doc" G. Smith was born on June 7, 1959 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Jim Alfred and Betty Lou Sutton Smith.

On June 20, 2003, he was united in marriage to Wendy Gay Franks.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Smith worked on the boat for Conti Carriers, Smith Brothers Sawmill as a co owner with his brother, Rayford, and Ingles Sawmill. He loved playing golf, deer hunting, throwing horseshoes, playing rook and spades, riding 4 wheelers, and going on boat rides at Bruton Branch. Most of all, "Doc" loved his family dearly.

Stan "Doc" G. Smith departed this life on January 29, 2024 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 22 days.

In addition to his wife, his family members include one son, Jim Allen Smith: brother, Rayford Smith and his wife Janice; and grandchildren, Ty Smith, Cody Smith, and Jacqueline Smith.

"Doc" was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Alfred and Betty Lou Sutton Smith and grandparents, Charlie and Magaret Sutton and Hal and Minnie Smith.
