Stanford Lee Slack of Forney, Texas, departed this earth for his heavenly home on March 19, 2026, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stan loved the Lord. One of the last things he vocalized in his final days was, "I trust God." He trusted that God would walk beside him on his journey.

Stan loved people and was the kind of person who left an impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger, and his kindness was not occasional; it was simply who he was. Stan was a man who would quite literally give the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet to help someone in need. His generosity, compassion, and warmth touched countless lives. He made others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. He was gentle, loving, and selfless in a way that is rare, and those who knew him were better because of him. To many, he was lovingly called "Stan the Man," a name that fit his big heart and unforgettable presence. He loved dogs and other animals, too. They seemed to know instinctively that he was a friend.

Stan was, and always will be, deeply loved by his family, just as he loved all of them. His presence brought comfort, steadiness, and love, and the loss of him will be felt beyond words. He was truly one of a kind, and his family will never be the same without him.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Helen Slack; and his daughter, Kelly Andrews.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Slack; his daughter, Laura Williams and husband, Aaron; his grandson, Casey Andrews; his granddaughter, Kennedy Stovall and husband, Bradley; his brother, Larry Slack and wife, Denise; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, whom he considered his own brothers and sisters; and his many nieces, nephews.

Stan will be remembered always for his generous heart, his love for others, and the genuine goodness he brought into the world.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
