Stanley Vincent Bures, age 75, of Fairborn, OH passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024. Stan was born November 18, 1948, the loving son of the late Vincent and Lillian (nee Gawrysiak) Bures. Stan is the loving father of Matthew (Sheryl) Bures, Beth Bures, Ryan Bures and Christopher (Dana) Bures; dear grandfather of Haley and Olivia; cherished brother of Steve (Penny-Rae) Bures, Sheril (Jim) Scholtz and Scott (Diane) Bures; dear uncle of many. Stan proudly served his country in the US Army.
Stan possessed a true gift for entertaining, always ready to delight anyone he came across with funny anecdotes or to perform one of his original songs. Music was his true love. Whether he was tending to his award-winning yard or cruising through the neighborhood in his classic Mustang with the sound system blaring, his passion for melodies could always be felt. He had a rare gift for connecting with people, making even the grimmest of days feel a little lighter through his kindness and humor. He ended many conversations by telling everyone to have better than good day, but to have a Stan-tastic day.
Stan's passion for softball was a defining feature of his life. He played the game from childhood well into his late sixties, showcasing an unwavering love for the sport. He shared his enthusiasm by coaching all of his children's softball teams and instilling the values of sportsmanship and perseverance in young minds who looked up to him.
Stan's vibrant spirit extended beyond the softball diamond and onto the dance floor. He relished life's simple pleasures and was dedicated to staying active.
In his professional life, Stan was a remarkable and dedicated worker whose commitment to excellence was evident throughout his impressive 47-year career in retail. He concluded his journey as a respected store manager at Home Depot, where his leadership and hard work earned him the admiration of both coworkers and customers alike. His passion for service and ability to forge meaningful connections left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
The family will receive friends 5-7PM WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2024 at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 99 W. Aurora Rd. (Rt 82, one mile west of Rt. 8), Northfield Center, OH.
