Stanley Albert Bush

Stanley Albert Bush Jr, 79, of Henderson passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was born on September 13, 1945 to the late Stanley Albert Bush Sr and Kathryn Plattenburg Bush in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his sister, Edna Bush Singer and his brother, Kenny Bush.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Karen D. Bush of the home; his daughters, Jennifer Councilman (Lee) of Creedmoor, NC and Leah Bush of Culpeper, VA; his sons, Scott Bowman of Aulander, NC; Michael Bowman (Debbie) of Carolina Beach, NC and Ronald Bush (Stacey) of Culpeper, VA; his grandchildren, Emilie Councilman, Austin Councilman, Danielle Stinnette, Chris Bush, David Bush, Heidi Thompson, Jenna Goodman, Hailey Ocheltree and Kelly Homan; great grandchildren, Christopher Bush, Cole Goodman, Bowyn Homan, Evan Homan, Noelle Homan, Asher Thompson, and Ava Thompson; his beloved, faithful and loyal canine companion Sassy as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Stanley attended Stroudsburg High School in Stroudsburg PA and was part of the graduating class of 1963. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1970, achieving the rank of E5. He then served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1990 achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer II. He did two tours in Vietnam while in the Marine Corps. He attended Warrant Officer School in Fort Rucker Alabama while in the Army. During his time in the Army he was stationed in Germany twice. Stanley was very proud to be a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces and loved his country. He also loved showing dogs and rabbits. Stanley loved his horses, fishing and bowling.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Flat Rock United Methodist Church, 2560 Satterwhite Point Road, Henderson, NC 27537. The family will receive friends and visitors at 10:00am with the Celebration of Life to start at 11:00am.
