STANLEY RONALD ROBERTO, D.O. May 19, 1933 – September 26, 2013 Stanislaus Ronald Roberto was born on May 19, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents were Alphonso and Marguerite (nee Waltman) Roberto and they were of Italian & Irish descent. He died on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Stanley was 80 years of age. Stanley was a resident of Bloomfield Hills, MI for 38 years and formerly of Troy, MI, Kansas City, MO, and Philadelphia, PA. He graduated in 1950 from Bishop Neumann High School in Philadelphia, PA. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA and the Kansas City University of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He was a longtime director of laboratories for the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital Corporation and retired in 1999. He was a dedicated consultant and tutor for many medical students. He was the former Secretary/Treasurer for American Osteopathic Board of Pathology. Stanley was an accomplished sculptor and painter. He was an active supporter and benefactor for the Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Academy of Art and College for Creative Studies. Stanley enjoyed travel, furniture design and architecture. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Stallsmith) and dear father of Adrienne Roberto and Brion Roberto. Loving grandfather of Anthony Roberto, Marco Roberto and Vincent Smeal. and brother of the late Judith Roberto. The Roberto Family will receive friends Friday, September 27, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:30a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 2345 Coolidge, Troy. Visitation at church begins at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial tributes to the USO or Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine Street, Philadelphia PA 19147-2811
