Stanley J. Egan, 55, formerly of Exeter, passed away at his home in Moreauville, La., Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald R. Egan Sr. and Rebecca Koval Egan.
Stan was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1985. He was an Air Force veteran, having served in 1989 and was honorably discharged in 1993 with his MOS being explosive ordinance disposal, where he received many awards and medals for his service. He was employed for several years by Willis Ide & Son and was previously employed by Lowes, Wilkes-Barre.
He was the life of every family/friend event. There was plenty of fun had by all in his presence and he was the best person to give the most emotional grace at holiday dinners. Stan had a special charisma about him where you became an instant friend just by him saying "hi" to you.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cynthia Egan; children, Cynthia Devens (Jarvis Wright) and Mason Egan; siblings, Sophie (Stephen Sr.) Barber, Donald R. Egan Jr. and Sandra Smith; grandchildren, Darrell Kinnel; Jazza'niah Wright and Jazira Wright; father-in-law, Dennis L. Wilson Sr.; mother-in-law, Cynthia Wilson; brother-in-law, Dennis L. Wilson Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends. He is also fondly remembered by the Grant Street Gang as the mayor of Grant Street.
Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Paul McDonnell at 5 p.m. Friday from Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, if you would like to attend this service.
Friends and family may visit from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
