Stanley D. Petchulis, 90 of Mar Lin, passed away peacefully Sunday August 24, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Mar Lin on August 2, 1935, he was a son of the late Stanislaus and Ella (Komorosky) Petchulis.
A graduate of Pottsville High School, he served 6 years in the US Army. Belonging to the 82nd Airborne while stationed at Fort Bragg, NC.
Stanley married his wife, June (Romain) Petchulis, on June 18, 1961, celebrating 64 years of marriage this summer. Together they owned and operated Mar Lin Markets.
He was a member of Blue Mountain K Lions Club, Mar Lin American Legion, Director of Union Saving & Loan Minersville, multiple Investment Clubs, Norwegian Township Supervisor, also a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic church Mount Carmel, former member of St. Francis of Assisi RCC Minersville, and regularly attended Holy Savior RCC Ocean City, MD. Stanley had a deep love for baseball, from collecting cards to attending and watching games. He especially enjoyed talking about old ball players, like his favorite Ted Williams. If he wasn't tending to his devotion and passion of butchering, you would catch him joking with grandchildren, enjoying the morning paper with a black coffee and lottery ticket or watching boats pass by his Ocean City, Maryland bay window.
Stanley is survived by his wife June (Romain) Petchulis, 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ian Albert Petchulis and fiancé Kristen Kufrovich, son Jordan; Stacey Petchulis Bosack and Husband Thomas, daughter Hannah and sons David, Max and Ethen George; Stephen Petchulis and wife Dorothy, son Dane; Michael Miller and wife Stephanie, daughter Marissa (husband Steve) and sons Michael (wife Kaitlyn) and Myles Miller; Stanley Petchulis III and wife Terri, daughter Sarah and son Stanley Petchulis IV (wife Liz Killian Petchulis), Marcella and husband Ralph, daughter Paige and son Isaac Thomas; Bradley Petchulis and wife Cindy, sons Bradley Jr. and Edward Petchulis; great grandchildren Stella, Reid, Olenna, Macie and Maeve.
