Stanley Joe Pryor, 66, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, at the Hospice of Texarkana in Texarkana, TX. Born on November 20, 1958, in Belcher, LA, Stanley grew up to be a man of immense warmth and generosity, touching the lives of many with his loving nature.
For twenty years, Stanley dedicated his professional life to Alumax where he served as a UPC Coordinator. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his community, particularly through his active involvement in the local Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery program. His remarkable journey of personal transformation and rehabilitation earned him the honor of being named the Most Rehabilitated Arkansas Citizen of the Year, a title he accepted with his characteristic humility and grace.
Stanley's dedication to the AA program was unwavering, and he became a pillar of support and inspiration within the recovery community. For 36 years, he shared his experiences, strength, and hope, guiding countless individuals along their paths to sobriety. His love for his AA family was boundless, and the bonds he formed within this fellowship were as deep as they were cherished.
Those who knew Stanley will remember him as a beacon of love. His kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and his willingness to lend an ear or a helping hand made him a friend to all. Stanley's legacy is one of love in action; he lived his life as a testament to the power of recovery and the human spirit's capacity for change.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Pryor, Sr. and Edna (Holcomb) Pryor; wife of 26 years, Cindy Lea (Randolph) Pryor; and sister, Beverly Holland. Stanley is survived by his son, Jason Shultz of Magnolia; brothers, William Pryor and wife Tina of Shongaloo, LA, Jonathan Pryor and wife Peggy of Calhoun, LA; and sister, Mary Prince of Fairfield, TX; and a host of nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. A private burial will follow visitation at the New Hope Cemetery in McNeil.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to donor's local Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery Program.
