Dr. Stanley Richard Skolnick

We are heartbroken to announce that Dr. Stanley Richard Skolnick, 86, of Westport, CT, passed away on the morning of November 8, 2024 at his home surrounded by his beloved family.
Born March 31, 1938, in New York City, he was the son of the late Max and Pauline Skolnick. Stanley went on to travel Europe and graduate medical school from Heidelberg University in Germany. He was beloved in Connecticut and New York medical communities by both colleagues and patients, where he eventually returned to open up his own practice for more than 50 years in Darien, CT.
In Stanley's spare time he loved reading history novels, collecting hundreds of books in his lifetime and gardening, especially tending to his rose garden. His captivating laugh and personality will be missed by all because to know him was to love him.
Stanley is survived by his loving family, his wife Diane (Skolnick) Orloski, his children Alyssa (Skolnick) Minch, Nicole (Skolnick) Geter (Josh), Neal Skolnick (Kelly), and Adam Orloski (Maureen). He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren Briana, Zachary, Jake, and Jessica Minch, Conor and Rory Orloski, and Bessie their puppy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister Renee Garrett and her husband Earle and by his niece Nanci.
"Stan", "Pop", "Poppy", "Dad" will always be with us because we carry his memory forever in our hearts.
Services will be held Sunday, November 10, at 10:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 8:30 AM.
