Stanley Michael Treadway, age 75, of Ocean Springs, MS was born on Scott AFB in Belleville, IL on November 21, 1949. Stan died at home on Monday, October 6, 2025 after receiving a cancer diagnosis on August 19.
Stan met the love of his life and beloved wife of 53 years, Gayle Johnston Treadway at Moss Point High School.
Stan and Gayle traveled frequently together and visited over 30 countries. They enjoyed ocean cruises and the smaller river cruises and variety of land tours. Stan was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his hunting camp and on the water.
He graduated from Moss Point High School in 1969. While in high school he was active in band and played the French horn. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America where he earned his Eagle Scout Award. He attended the World Jamboree in Idaho in 1967 and a Jamboree in Spain while living with his family in Morocco. Stan graduated from Ole Miss in 1974 where he was in ROTC and was inducted into the Arnold Air Society and the military honorary, Scabbard and Blade.
Stan enjoyed a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry.
He was predeceased by his parents, Major John E. Treadway Sr. USAF retired and Barbara Blunschi Treadway, brother, John E. Treadway Jr. and nephew, James Treadway, Jr.
Stan is survived by his wife, Gayle, and his two sons, Michael Treadway and Matthew Treadway, his granddaughters, Harper Treadway and Lyra Treadway, his brother, James (Jim)Treadway, Sr. (Becka), his sisters, Mary Lipscomb (Tim) and Patty Ann Carrier, sisters-in-law, Patricia Buxton Treadway, MaryAnne Johnston, Audrey Barth and, brother-in-law, Will Johnston, nieces and nephews, Scott Barth, Haydn Fisher, Jason Carrier, Jeremy Carrier, Joshua Carrier, Jennifer Carrier.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Stan’s name, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at https://www.stjude.org
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit from 12:00pm until service time. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Ocean Springs.
