Stanley Eugene Underwood

Stanley Eugene Underwood, 64, passed away on February 11, 2026 at his home in Lexington.

Stanley was born on October 01, 1961 in Gothenburg, NE to parents Garland Taylor, Sr. and Velma (Neeman) Underwood.

Stanley was one of the most kind and humble man you could ever meet. He would take the shirt off his back if you needed it. He married Jeri Lynn Rogers on May 30, 1984. They had three children who were definitely his pride and joy. He made sure if you needed to be somewhere you was there for sure and always 5 minutes early or you was considered late! He always had a smile on his face and his laugh was super contagious. He'd get his belly roll going and all you could do was bust a gut and come out with a stomach ache from laughing so hard. When his grandchildren came along they became his babies as well! The sparkle in his eyes would brighten the room!

Stanley worked at Paulsens, Inc. running one of their loaders for many years. He took great pride of taking care of his loader so you would find him most Sundays at the pit servicing her to get her all ready for the following week. He loved spending time with his kids anytime he could. Fishing on a summer night with his wife. Camping with all his family and being out on the lake in a boat became the best summer memories. He loved to create wooden items from a mirror frame to plant stands for family members. He enjoyed just sitting and watching his westerns to calm down most nights and weekends.

Preceded in death by his father Garland, Sr., sister, Kathy (Underwood) Griffis, aunt Lou and uncle Chet Baugh, mother-in-law Margaret Rogers, sisters-in-law Teri Benham, Wanda Weeder, Virginia (Mikki) Ashcraft, and Jackie Vassar and nephew Joshua Benham.

He is survived by his wife Jeri; children, Stacy (Cory) Booker, Kyle (Andrea) Underwood, Fayeann Underwood, grandchildren, Paisley and Zeke Underwood, Braxtyn and Hudsyn Booker, his mother, Velma Underwood, siblings, Richard (Chris) Underwood, Garland (Clare) Underwood, Randy (Tracy) Underwood, Lolita (Hobart) Watts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 1:00-7:00 PM with the family present from 4:00-6:00 PM at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 1721 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE.

Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.

In Lieu of flowers memorials maybe directed to the family.
