Stanley Xenakis Obituary

Stanley Xenakis, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025 in St. Louis, MO. Born in Brooklyn, New York and upon retirement relocating to Hilton Head, South Carolina then spending his last 6 months of life in St. Louis near his son.

He spent his career in education, beginning as a science teacher in Brooklyn, New York and later working in administration for the East Ramapo School District. Stanley had a lifelong passion for learning and his dedication in the field of education was evident. Prior to his death he continued to have students reach out to him.

He had a love for music, traveling, playing bridge, and most importantly his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he made every effort to stay in touch with them, despite the miles apart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Katina Xenakis; brother, John; wife, Helen; daughter, Alison Miller; and grandson, Ryan Xenakis.

He is survived by his son, Paul Xenakis; daughter, Christine Weathersbee (Bryan); grandchildren ,Alexa, Lauren, and Nicholas Miller, Alana, Andrew, and Kate Xenakis, Brooke and Briana Weathersbee.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church located at 14 W Anderson Street, Savannah Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church.
