In Loving Memory of a True American Hero
With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we honor a man whose quiet strength, unwavering service, and generous heart left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
Stanton Clarence McGrath proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Master-at-Arms a position of profound trust and responsibility, entrusted with security, leadership, and the protection of others, after 23 years of honorable service, including three tours in Vietnam. To us, he was a real-life superhero. There was nothing he couldn't do, no challenge he wouldn't face, and no sacrifice he wouldn't make for others.
His service continued well beyond the Navy. He faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter and constable, always ready to help, always answering the call. Service was not just what he did, it was who he was.
Stan had a heart of gold. Quiet and humble, yet when he spoke, his sense of humor could light up a room. His perfectly timed dad jokes were legendary. We laughed often, sometimes groaning, always smiling. Those moments are treasures we will carry forever.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, and his cherished son, Scott, whom he missed deeply. While our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort knowing they are together again.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marylee McGrath, who came into his life and brought him happiness, comfort, and peace. Marylee loved him deeply and cared for him with tenderness and devotion, and he was profoundly loved in return.
He also leaves behind his devoted son, Charles McGrath, whom he loved beyond measure. In everything Charles does and says, we see his father living on. His values, his humor, his strength, and his steady presence are a daily reminder that his dad's legacy continues through him.
We miss him more than words can express. Yet we know he is never truly gone. He lives on in our stories, our laughter, our faith, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love, service, and quiet strength will remain with us always.
Forever loved. Forever honored. Forever with us.
