Starla Kay Bowles, age 50, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 5, 1975, in Tuscaloosa, AL, Starla's spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. The family has honored her wishes for cremation and no services are scheduled at this time.
Starla was a devoted member of her family and had an unwavering love for God, which guided her through life's many challenges and triumphs. She nurtured her relationships with great care, always prioritizing her family above all else. Starla is survived by her mother, Linda Walker of Clinton, TN; her son, Dakota Parnell of Perry County, TN; and her daughters, Savannah Bendall of Stanton, TN, and Danielle Parnell of Perry County, TN. She also leaves behind her brother, Charles Allen Walker, Jr., along with five cherished grandchildren: Sheriden Henson, Chad Burk, Brandon Bendall, Suzannah Wright, and Shelby. Adding to her legacy, Starla is survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Starla enjoyed many simple pleasures, including the joy of getting her nails done and indulging in her favorite Three Musketeers candy bars. These small moments brought her great joy and happiness.
Starla was preceded in death by her father, Charles Walker. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends, who will remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Starla Kay Bowles will be dearly missed but never forgotten. All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
