Statia's mother put her on a public bus, at age 5, to travel solo downtown to Holy Rosary School for first grade. Statia, already a young reader, never looked back! She completed her education with Bachelor's and Master's degrees from University of Louisville. Statia personified "dedicated teacher." She used everything she had to engage her middle school science classes, including real chemicals! I hope I always remember her her quick wit, can do spirit, and bon mot--dating Bill Nye the Science Guy, indeed!
My heart goes out to her husband, sons and their families in the wake of her passing.

Thoughts and prayers to the Dodge family. Mrs. Dodge was a great teacher and I was very lucky to have her twice..in both the 6th and 8th grades at St. Helens.
Rest easy.

So sorry to learn of Statia´s death. Statia was great to be around both at work at MWMS and at play. She had a great sense of humor and would tell her science students that she dated Bill Nye the Science Guy! She will be missed. Prayers for all the family.
