Statia Marie Dodge

Statia Scott Dodge was born on December 12, 1945 and passed away on December 9, 2025, just 3 days before her 80th birthday. She was a proud graduate of Presentation Academy '63; she earned her B.A. and M. A. degrees from University of Louisville.
Statia and husband Wayne were fortunate to have had 59 years together. They were always ready to help family and friends when needed and hosted family dinners every Sunday. They were renowned for their annual Derby Party for family, friends and neighbors. Statia's many friends and teaching colleagues will remember her wit, her good humor, and her can-do approach to every problem, including medical challenges. Statia was a dedicated teacher in local Catholic schools (Holy Name and St. Helen) and in Bullitt County (Bullitt Lick Middle and Mount Washington Middle). There's a special place in heaven for middle school science teachers and Statia Dodge earned hers, daily. Statia was an animated instructor, known for using "real chemicals" in her class experiments. She was also a keen observer of current events and an avid student of American History, visiting numerous Presidential libraries and National Parks, from coast to coast. She especially loved St.Pete's beach.
In addition to Wayne, Statia is survived by their sons, Wayne Jr.(Jenni) and Scott (Denise), five grandchildren--Lauren (Jakob), Thad (Kelsey), Nathan, Kaelin and Maddie-- and three great grandchildren--Otto, Cash and Poppy.
Statia was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Elizabeth Scott, her brother Jim, her in-laws Mary and Bruce Dodge, and brothers and sisters -in-law, Bruce and Betty Dodge, Milton Dodge and Beverly Hannaman.
