Arthur Dodge

Arthur "Bud" George Dodge, 86, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the comfort of his Lyons, Ohio, home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 7, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, to Arthur C. and Eileen (Gardner) Dodge. Art attended and graduated from Libbey High School in 1957. In 1964, on April 18th, he married his high school crush, Carol Sue Woitzel. They were married 61 glorious years. Art was a man of many talents and passions. He spent over 30 years as a commercial truck driver, driving for Interstate Systems and then Yellow Freight. After retirement, Art enjoyed helping for many years at Tom Keil and Son's farm in Delta, Ohio. His love for the great outdoors was apparent to all who knew him. Art was an avid landscaper, often spending hours in his yard and on his mower. He also loved hunting and fishing. Art also had a love for woodworking. He could take something old and broken and make it look new again, giving everything he touched a new life. Clocks were another passion that started at a young age with him working alongside his father, building several clocks in his lifetime. It was something to hear when they all chimed on the hour. Anyone who knew Art would say this about him and his lifestyle, "There was a place for everything and everything in its place!"

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol; and their two daughters, Tracey (Jeff) Erd and Amy (Don) Keil, both of Delta. Art will be deeply missed by his eight grandchildren, Tim (Lucy) Keil, Nick (Abigail) Keil, Ashley Erd, Alexandria Erd, Steven (Jacey) Keil, Mark Keil, Brooklyn Erd and Jessica Erd; great-grandchildren, Jase and Phillip Keil. He is also survived by two sisters, Sue Burkhart of Florida, and Joyce (Paul) Orosz of Swanton. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eileen Dodge; and a sister, Marilyn Williams.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported Art during his illness- especially the staff at Heartland Hospice, who gave him the best care and hope. Funeral services will be private with close family. His grandson, Nick Keil, will be officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. Tributes may be directed to the Heartland Hospice Association, 1718 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537, in his memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Highway 109, in Delta, Ohio.
