Stefan Scherer, 91, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2025. Born on December 10, 1933, in Schowe, Yugoslavia, he was the beloved son of the late Adam and Elizabeth Scherer.
Stefan is survived by his life partner, Loretta Kiehl, and his children: Ruth (Kurt Sr.) Seiberling, Rena (Jim) Ondak, Raymond (Marianne) Scherer, Rosemarie (Jim) Stec, and Robin (Dale, deceased) Kara. He was a devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Scherer, his grandson, Adam Scherer, and his sister, Elisabeth Weiss.
A passionate sportsman, Stefan loved soccer and played a vital role in founding the soccer club at Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center. He also found joy in bowling, gardening, playing cards, and making homemade sausage and horseradish.
His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. https://www.Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).org/
A visitation will be held on Sunday May 18th, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.With a service on Monday May 19th at 10:00 am at Sunset Chapel.
