A Life Well Lived
New Iberia, LA - A Home-going Celebration of Life will be held for Mrs. Stella Ann Broussard 62, the former Stella Harrison at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Pastor Geroy Scott, Sr. officiating.
She will await the resurrection in Rose Hill Cemetery (944 W. Main Street) in
New Iberia, LA.
The visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, 2026, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Stella Ann Harrison Broussard was born June 16, 1963, in
Lafayette, LA to Rose N. Harrison and Paul Hopkins.
Stella was a resident of
New Iberia, LA who departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 6:14 P.M. at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in
Lafayette, LA.
She was affectionately known as Stella Ann or "Stell" to all who knew and loved her. Stella was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her. She had a remarkable talent for cooking and found great joy in preparing homecooked meals for anyone who walked through her door. Above all, she cherished cooking for her children and grandchildren, expressing her love through every dish she made. In her spare time, Stella enjoyed trips to the casino with family and friends and hosting friendly card games in the comfort of her home, where laughter and togetherness were always abundant.
Stella attended elementary, junior high, and senior high school in Iberia Parish. In her early years, she was employed at Azalea Villa, where she cared for the elderly. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Mr. David Broussard, Sr., and began building a life centered on love, family, and devotion.
Stella now leaves in God's care two sons, David Broussard, Jr. (Sonia) and Jonas Harrison, both of
New Iberia, LA; five daughters, LaDone Harrison, Kieasha Broussard, Laquandria Broussard all of
New Iberia, LA, Alexis Degray (Wendell) and Nieasha Broussard of Alexandria, LA; twenty-two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary H. Reese (Willie), Mona Hopkins, Rita Hopkins, and Mary Ane Francis all of
Lafayette, LA; one brother, Kenneth Hopkins of
Lafayette, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Also left to cherish beautiful memories is her best friend of over 40 years, Charlotte Hayes; two special first cousins-more like her sisters, Tanny January and Paula Harrison; special friends, Norma Jean Dugas, Clara Franklin, Mary Ann Williams, Glenda Gayle Thomas, Carolyn Sereal, Suzanne McCall, Marcella Thomas and Sybill Tillman; her godmother, Rose M. Harrison.
Stella now joins in glory the love of her life of 44 years, her husband, Mr. David Broussard, Sr.; her parents, Rose Nell Harrison and Paul Hopkins; two grandsons, Her'mon Harrison and Malachi Broussard; two sisters, Prunella Jeanlouis and Cheryl Harrison; three brothers, Charles H. Harrison, Herman Harrison and Harold Harrison; maternal grandparents, Anatole Harrison and Mary Cyprien Harrison; two nieces, Latresha Harrison and Georgina Harrison; one nephew, Iejan Harrison; special cousin, Brunella H. Landry.
Serving as Active Pallbearers are Hermondrick Harrison, JaKylan Gabriel, Peter Paul Gabriel, David Broussard, Jr., Wendell Degray, and Tyler Jackson.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Harrison, Trenston Harrison, Kendrick Jeanlouis, Corderrio Harrison, Jonas Harrison, Jr., Amiree Harrison, James Jeanlouis, Cortland Harrison, David Curtis, Davonte Broussard, and Quandae Broussard.
