Stella Louise Chappell, age 80 of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away at home on July 30, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1945, in Tipton County, TN. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. Then she went to work with her husband in the tire business and later in the recycling business. She enjoyed cooking, reading the Bible, listening to Elvis Presley on her record player, shopping and spending time with her family and traveling in her motor home in her earlier years with her husband. She loved being a mom and a grandmother. She was a member of the Hustburg Church of Christ in New Johnsonville, TN.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Humphreys County Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mickey Miller officiating.
Interment will follow at Chappell Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Lori (Ray) Price of New Johnsonville, TN, and her son Billie Jr. (Christy) Chappell of Paris, TN. Grandchildren Rocky (Mary) Hargrove, Ashley (Russell) Priest, Jonathan (Ashley) Price, Brianne Chappell, Stephen Hastings, Michael Douglas. Great grandchildren Averi Priest, Nathan Priest, William Hargrove, Zoey Hall, Jordan Price, Willow Price, Allison Townsend, Karisma Hastings, Nevaeh Veastal, and Jocelyn Anderson. Brothers, Rodney (Linda) Hester and Danny (Debbie) Pruitt. Sisters, Linnie Campbell, JoAnn (Johnny) Hubbard, Fay (Ricki) Smith. Sister-in-law, Eva Moran and brother-in-law, Bobby Chappell. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Billie Chappell, Sr., her parents Leslie and Ruth Forrest, Louise (Carl) Pruitt and Dave (Tressie) Jones. Brothers, Leon Jones, Steve Blackwell, James Blackwell, and sister, Leona Emerson. Brother-in-law, John Chappell, and sister-in-law, Lucie Hutchison.
