Joann met Wallace Vorwerk and the two were married on January 23, 1960 in Wellington Township, and were able to spend 65 wonderful years together. The couple were blessed with 5 children whom together, they raised on their family farm in rural Gibbon. Joann was a hard worker; always baking and cooking, doing chores and field work on the farm, helping Wally host his coffee group, and so much more. Joann and her family worked many years tapping the maple trees for syrup. She loved to cook pancakes and anything else she could use their maple syrup with. Joann, a young and devoted grandmother, often helped care for her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment with them. After marriage, Wally and Joann joined St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where they were proud and active members.
