Stella Wanda Grzybowski (nee: Balabuch), age 101, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Fraser Villa in Fraser, Michigan where she was a resident for 6 1/2 years. Stella was born on April 27, 1917 in Camden, New Jersey. Stella was raised by her mother, Agnes, in Detroit, Michigan along with her brother William. On January 30, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan Stella married Max J. and raised their two daughters there before moving to Warren in 1961. During World War II, Stella worked in the old Packard Plant making parts for tanks. She later worked at AMT, a model car company, as a supervisor before she retired at 65 years old. Stella loved to travel. She made a car trip all the way from the shores of New Jersey to sunny California. She enjoyed traveling with her family all throughout Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas. One of Stella's favorites were the many summers she spent at the lake where she was able to swim whenever she wanted. As Stella grew older and traveled less often, she turned her passion to gardening keeping her home looking beautiful year round. Stella was the beloved wife of the late Max J. who passed away on February 14, 1976. She was the dear mother of Maxine (Ralph) Bliss and Loretta (Thomas Jr.) Hefner. The loving grandmother of Kevin Bliss, Christopher (Audra) Bliss, Thomas (Barbara) Hefner, April Hefner, Joseph Hefner, Kristopher (Lee Ann) Hefner, and Sharon (Jonathon) Westerdale. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother William (Shirley) Balabuch and her mother Agnes Balabuch. Also by in-laws Joseph (Helen) Grzybowski, Stephen Grzybowski, and Regina (Floyd) Mathews. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home. I believe she was one of the kindest people I have known. I loved her laughter, it seemed to come from a happy place deep down inside.... and she loved her ice cream... Thank you for sharing your 100th birthday with me, it was an honor. I WILL ALWAYS KEEP A PLACE IN MY HEART FOR YOU. Thank you for being you.
