Stella (Golec) Kowalczyk, 98, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Stanley Kowalczyk, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Giza) Golec, and worked at the former Crosse Hinds/Arrow Hart for 30 years until her retirement in 1989.

Stella leaves her three children, Walter and his wife Cynthia of Southington, Janine Kinel of Glastonbury, and Patricia Millar and her husband Bruce of Stafford. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Allison Anderson, Rebecca Tedesco, Jeffrey Kowalczyk, Sara Kowalczyk, Timothy Kinel, Catherine Phelan, Nicole Lefevre, Lindsey Kinel and Danielle Millar, thirteen great-grandchildren, her dear sister-in-law M. Kathleen Golec of Newington, and her brother-in-law Francis Dylag of West Hartford.

Stella is predeceased by her son-in-law Bruce Kinel and her four brothers and five sisters: Bernard Golec, Bertha Mozdzierz, Genevieve Zak, Chester Golec, Victoria Golec, Stanley Golec, Charlotte Lysik, Helen Pikula and Charles Golec.

A special heartfelt thanks to Stella's neighbor Ruth Nadeau for her thoughtfulness and care.

She will be missed by all who loved her. To all who knew her "I am fine, xoxo".

A calling hour will be Thursday, February 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Ss.
