Stella Monastero

Stella Monastero, 89, a lifelong resident of Conshohocken, died on November 10, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Monastero, Sr. She was born in Conshohocken on December 24, 1922 to the late John and Catherine Porucznik. Mrs. Monastero attended St. Mary Elementary School and later worked at the former Famelon Pharmacy at 9th Ave. and Fayette St. in Conshohocken. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who took pride in her home, and in caring for her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church. She is survived by 3 children Anthony "Nino" Monastero and wife Sara of Conshohocken, Jack Monastero of West Conshohocken, Rosemary Mahoney of Conshohocken, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister Helen Frosty of Conshohocken, a brother-in-law Doc D'Addona, a sister-in-law Mary Monastero, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son Benjamin R. Monastero, Jr. on October 30, 2012, and 3 siblings John Porucznik, Mary Skarbeck, Clara D'Addona. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, West Elm St. and Oak St., Conshohocken. The Viewing will be from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken. Entombment in St. Patrick Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stella's name to Montgomery Home Care and Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401 are appreciated.
