Stella Frances Plush, 99, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at Rockland Place in Wilmington Delaware. Her name means "star" and now she is like a star that will shine for all of eternity.
Stella was born on November 11, 1925, in Swedesburg, Pennsylvania to Mary and Ludwig Zaborowski. Stella worked in the hosiery industry until meeting her husband, Theodore J. Plush, a WWII Marine veteran. They married on November 11, 1950, and had two children, Theodore and Mary Kay. They spent many blessed years raising their family in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Ted and Stella were active members of Saint Matthew Roman Catholic Church where Stella helped organize bingo nights and maintain the elementary school library. Together they enjoyed Marine Corps veterans' reunions around the US, bus trips to Atlantic City casinos and Delaware Park. Stella ended her professional career as a pharmaceutical component inspector at Tompkins Rubber Company, after which they relocated to Glen Mills to be closer to their grandchildren.
Stella is survived by her children, Theodore Plush (Kathy) and MaryKay Krienen (Bill); her grandchildren, Theodore Plush (Megan), Jon Plush ( Jacqueline), Maureen Krienen, Kaitlyn Geer (Stephen), William J Krienen IV(Lauren) and Brianna Plush; as well as eight beautiful great grandchildren by age: Quinn Evelyn, Theodore James IV, Sloane Eleanor, Reagan Eloise, Gabriella Michele, Shea Elodie, Jonathan Everett, and Desmond Samuel.
Stella is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ted (1923 – 2013) and her five siblings: Louise, Laura, Theodore, George and Sally.
A devout Catholic, Stella was passionate about the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her passing on the feast of St Joseph the Worker was emblematic of the life she led. Stella's work ethic was admirable and her devoted service to her husband, children and grandchildren was foundational to building a family unit that will proudly continue to live the values she instilled. Her wisdom, strength, and playful personality will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice and Palliative Care and all the caregivers at Rockland Place for their diligence in caring for Stella. They especially acknowledge Maria, who always made sure Babcia (as she was affectionately known) was included in their many activities and enrichment programs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine, 10 Old Church Road in Wilmington, Delaware on May 12, 2025, at 11:30am. Friends may call at the church from 10:30am – 11:30am. Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
Stella was proud of her Polish heritage and, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901.
