Stella Schaefer-Culbertson

Schaefer-Culbertson, Stella age 91 died 2/5/07 in Spanish Fork, UT. Born Stella Constance Holcombe 12/24/15, to Mary Agnes LaDouceur and Carl Everette Holcombe in Mpls. Stella married Jack Schaefer in 1936. Moving to Bloomington in 1952, she spent many years involved in Girl Scouts. She organized the 25th and 50th class reunions for Washburn High. She was founder and President of the MN River Valley Audubon Club in 1967. Retiring to FL in 1973, she published a book on her genealogy and translated a book from French to English on her French Canadian ancestors. Jack died 12/18/90. She then traveled to France, and later to Viet Nam and Thailand with her daughter Gretchen. Stella married George K. Culbertson in Provo, UT on 5/31/97. They toured Europe on their honeymoon and later visited the Greek Islands. Stella is survived by George and her daughters: Constance (Bill) Archer, WY, Gretchen (Mark) Deichelbor, GA, Susan Schaefer, AR, and Jill (Tom) Cunningham, FL. Her brother Carl Holcombe of Bloomington, sister-in law Rosemary Hebner, TX, five stepchildren, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Simonet Funeral Home, Stillwater, MN. Visitation and funeral will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stillwater, on Saturday 2/17/07 beginning at 10 AM. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater.
