Stella Teel, 87, of Dill City, Oklahoma was born on December 20, 1926 in Dill City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Willis Leonzo and Edith Mae (Berrie) Werhan. Stella passed away on August 20, 2014 at the Cordell Christian Home in Cordell, Oklahoma. Stella married Travis "Truman" Teel on April 2, 1949 in Wheeler, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2005. Stella enjoyed cross stitching, canning, cooking; especially making bread from scratch and making her delicious coconut cream pie. She was known for her fried okra. Stella was a very active member of the Plains Avenue Church of Christ in Dill City, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2014 at the 2nd and Adams Church of Christ in Elk City, Oklahoma. Bud Jones and Pat Mannon will officiate. Interment will be at South Burns Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Memorials can be made to the Plains Avenue Church of Christ in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, 600 W. Country Club Blvd, Elk City, Oklahoma 73644. Stella is survived by one son, Phil Teel and wife, Lisa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Marsha Shelton and husband, Terry of Dill City, Oklahoma; one sister, Vena Teel of Dill City, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Tena Burba of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Dennis Teel and wife, Terrie of Elk City, Oklahoma, Danny Teel and wife, Jamie of Hammon, Oklahoma, Alissa Antwine and husband, Brent of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Bridgette Shelton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Melissa Jackson and husband, Emmanuel of Norman, Oklahoma and Brandon Shelton and wife, Lauren of Elk City, Oklahoma; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis "Truman" Teel; parents, Willis and Edith (Berrie) Werhan; two sisters, Edith and Bertha; two infant brothers; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Teel.
