Stella Tocco Obituary
Stella was born in what was then Poland (now Ukraine), in a village outside of Lviv. Alongside her parents, Jan and Anna, and her brother Edward, Stella endured Nazi-controlled Germany before immigrating as a refugee to the United States. Her family, later joined by her younger sister Wanda, first arrived in Louisiana before eventually settling in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Stella married the late Theodore Cymbal and raised four children: Evelyn ter Haar (Barry), the late Theodore Cymbal (Deborah), Sandra Pakledinaz (John), and William Cymbal. She later built a life with her husband, Steve Tocco, before the two moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed their golden years together.
A natural storyteller and a legendary cook, Stella loved to sing and dance, and her joy was contagious-filling rooms, kitchens, and hearts wherever she went.
Along with her children, Stella is survived by grandchildren, Christina Maurice (Wade), Paul ter Haar (Vicki), Sam ter Haar (Juliet), James Pakledinaz and Zoe Pakledinaz along with six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be announced.
