Stephanie Deak Obituary

Stephanie F. Deak, 87, of Greensburg, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Dec. 25, 2024. She was born in McKeesport and was her class valedictorian at Divine Redeemer Academy. Stephanie worked as an executive assistant at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, supporting the USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear-powered submarine. She was a devoted mother to Linda Deak-Calhoun (JC Calhoun) of Valencia, PA, and Laura Philipp (Tony) of Mooresville, NC. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Brady Calhoun, Valerie Calhoun, and Roger Philipp. Stephanie was an avid gardener, Girl Scout leader, craft expert, and baker extraordinaire. Mrs. Deak was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; infant son, Robert A. Deak Jr.; brothers, David and Regis Foremsky; and parents, Leo and Anna Foremsky. There will be no public visitations or services. Interment is private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Basilica Parish, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650. Arrangements are being handled by the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
