Dr. Enea & family,
With a heavy heart, please accept my sincere condolences on Stephanie's passing. She was always a pleasure to have in the office, made me feel like a "friend" more than just the receptionist at her eye doctor's office. She will be missed by all.

Warmest Regards,
Marianne

To Pat. To Dion, Vito, Zoe and Christopher. To Mark, Lori, Leo and Eloise. To Peter and Tracey and Stephanie. To all the other family and friends. Please excuse my reaching out to you here and not sooner. The words swarmed in my head, stuck in my throat and could not be pronounced as adequate enough, knowing how devastating this is for all of you to have witnessed the year-long trauma of your precious wife, mother, Mimi, mother-in-law, sister and sister-in-law being taken from you. Two weeks have passed since that day Vito called to tell me she had passed. I could not bring myself to come here until now. To do so was to make it a reality. Instead, I´ve gone around in a stupor, dumbfounded in denial, while my heart was breaking for all of you. I know the love you all shared with her and her importance as the irreplaceable pillar in your lives. I know she would have wanted to stay and gave it her best like she always did.
My heart is broken for her to have had such a brutal ending. My heart is broken for not being there in person for my dearest , dearest friend, Steffie, who was more like my sister the greatest portion of our lives. You all are like family to me. I couldn´t get there to see her as I am dealing with a problem of my own that I didn´t want to share too much about while she dealt with her own most serious one. She told me she´d be there when I could come, so don´t rush. Well, I am coming and she won´t be there for the first time in 65 years! I think she did what she has always done, protecting others from seeing the trauma her loved ones there were witnessing. I think in the end, she was protecting me from seeing the trauma you were experiencing.
My days since hearing she has gone have been spent looking through photos and remembering everything we shared and experienced together. The things in my home remind me of those times, where we were and what we did. She, my eternal spirit, Steffie, will never be let go. I will find her again. My love goes with her and to you. When I come, I will contact all of you in person.

I recall fondly the credit classes we took together. Online but shared with a wonderful group of teachers. And the pool time. She was a delight.
