Jacqueline "Jackie" Oehler

With the rising sun on October 2, 1943, Anthony and Rose (Cucci) Amato welcomed Jacqueline "Jackie" (Oehler) into their lives. On March 2, 2026, the sun gently set, she peacefully completed her earthly journey at Abington Manor Senior Living.
A lifelong resident of the area, Jackie was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of 1961. She possessed a strong work ethic that began early in her life. She was employed as a telephone operator for Bell of PA. After starting her family, Jackie devoted many years to being a full-time homemaker, lovingly raising her two children and caring for her home until they were older. She later returned to the workforce as a sales representative for AT&T, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 1999.
Following her retirement, Jackie shared one of life's greatest blessings with her husband as they together cared for and helped raise their beloved grandson, Caden. As Nana and Pop-Pop, they found immeasurable joy in watching him grow and were a constant source of love and guidance in his life.
Jackie will be remembered as a woman of immense kindness, honesty, and compassion. She possessed a resilient spirit and was a true fighter. Regardless of the challenges life presented, she never complained; instead, she always got back up and gave everything her all. Her heart was most full when she was surrounded by her family, of whom she was incredibly proud.
She led a vibrant life filled with hobbies and travel. Jackie was very crafty and found joy in knitting and crocheting special gifts for family and friends. A lover of games, she enjoyed board games, word puzzles, playing on her iPad, and going to Bingo. She loved to travel with friends and family and could often be found relaxing poolside with a good book, though she frequently said that Italy was where her heart truly belonged.
Closer to home, she expressed her love for cooking and baking. Her famous chocolate cake with peanut butter icing was a staple at most gatherings. Jackie cherished picnics, birthdays, and holiday gatherings. She especially loved Christmas, ensuring there was always an abundance of gifts to be opened.
A woman of deep faith, Jackie was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish.
She is survived by her son, Charles P. Oehler III and his wife Vickie of Pocono Lake, PA; her daughter, Dina Oehler-Fusco of Palmer Twp., PA; sisters, Carolyn Hershey, Joanne Meck; sister-in-law, Dolores Austin and husband Edward of Easton; a grandchild, Caden Fusco, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Oehler, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.). An additional calling hour will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 8:30 am until 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 132 S. 5th Street, Easton, PA 18042. Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine.
