Her cremains will be placed next to her mother: Barbara Joyce Bassage at the Maple Grove Cemetery Columbarium in Comstock, Kalamazoo County, Michigan at a later date. Private family services are being held.
On 30 September 2023, Stephanie Ann Fleming passed away peacefully from metastatic stage four lung cancer. She was 70 years old. She was a resident of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
She valued her membership in. Her brother, Douglas Dean Fleming baptized and confirmed her a member of the church on 13 October 2013. There she enjoyed the continual love of her Savior Jesus Christ. She had a deep love and commitment for the Savior Jesus Christ. She loved to read her scriptures. She enjoyed the support of her church family too.
She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers and their families with multiple nieces and nephews. They are as follows: Gordon Lyle Fleming (Sue) with their children: Teresa, David, Michelle, Mariesha, & Ryan. Her brother: Douglas Dean Fleming (Mari) with their children Damon, Mari Lynn (Ryan) with their children Sine, Gideon, Amaron, Zerin, Jacom, & Jarom. Dan (Michelle) with their children Emma, Wyatt, Madeleine, & Logan; and Micheal (Mike). Her youngest brother: Buster Sidney Fleming (Ruth) with children Chris (Tina) with daughters: Shelby, Kellen, & Malory and their families. Also, Lynnel with her children Sidnee, & Gavin, and nephew: Stefan Tracenrider; whose late parents are Colleen Gail Fleming and Thomas Edward Tracenrider. In addition: her late sister: Charlene Joyce Fleming Face (Richard) with their children Barbara, Keith, & Shannon with their families. The cousins of the Bassage and Fleming families.
Also, Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents: William Stanley Fleming Jr. He was born in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. His birth date was 22 October 1924 and died 3 June 1992 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Her mother Barbara Joyce Bassage was born in Montgomery, Hillsdale County, Michigan on 21 July 1927. She died on 5 March 2007 in Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan.
On 18 October 1952 Stephanie was born in Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan. She grew up in Homer, Calhoun County, Michigan. She graduated from Homer High School in 1971. She lived in Florida for a few years but most of her life she has lived in Michigan; namely, Albion, Homer, and Kalamazoo.
Anyone that knew Stephanie it was understood she had a great love for animals and gardening. Her pets were like her children. She loved feeding her hummingbirds in her yard. At the same time, she kept a colorful collection of flowers around her home. She enjoyed crocheting and canning too.
Stephanie worked for many years as a medical assistant at the Patterson Medical Clinic in Kalamazoo. She worked at the Kalamazoo WMED Clinic for multiple years too. She worked in the Kalamazoo Goodwill Retail Store, as well. She was a very compassionate person and loved helping others in need.
